mark kozuki: physical therapist & owner
Dr. Mark Kozuki has been treating patients and professional athletes for over two decades. He utilizes an innovative approach that utilizes “ki” or energy release, which he discovered in 2017. He graduated from The College of St. Scholastica in 2002 with a Master of Arts degree in Physical Therapy. He later received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from The College of St. Scholastica in 2016. He achieved Board Certification in Orthopedics (OCS) in 2006. He became one the first Certified Neurac Providers (CNP) in North America on the Redcord system in 2013. Mark served as Adjunct Clinical Faculty in the Orthopedic Curriculum at Chapman University Physical Therapy Program from 2007-2013. He served as Team Physical Therapist for Hurley International from 2014 to 2017 and also covered events for the World Surf League (WSL). Mark has worked closely with athletes in the PGA, MLB, NFL, NHL, and Olympic athletes. He has a particular interest in treating and training rotational athletes. He loves surfing, jiu jitsu, ice hockey, and his two rescue dogs: Keiko and Kenji.
hannah ross: physical therapist
Hannah is one of our staff PTs at Elite Performance. She was born and raised in Hawaii, and she and her parents spent a part of her childhood moving throughout the mainland US and lived for a season in Kenya and Israel before moving back home where she finished high school on Oahu.
Hannah graduated cum laude in 2013 from Westmont College in Santa Barbara with a degree in Sociology and Kinesiology. Later that year, she pursued a program in emergency medicine and graduated with a certificate as an Emergency Medical Technician from Kapiolani Community College on Oahu. Hannah went on to attend Azusa Pacific University for PT school and graduated in 2017 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT). She spent 12 months at Kaiser Vallejo in a specialty Post-Graduate training program as a resident of the Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation program and became IPNFA certified in July 2018. She attained a Ginastica Level 1 certification in 2020.
Clinical experience as a DPT includes working in a blend of neurological rehab, outpatient orthopedics, home health, and concierge home therapy. Academic experience as a DPT includes 4 years of adjunct teaching at the graduate level in Azusa Pacific University's DPT program. She has extensively trained with Mark Kozuki in the Ki Release Method.
Hannah loves jiu jitsu, snowboarding, spontaneous food and traveling adventures, surfing and outrigger canoe paddling, taiko drumming, hula, and all animals (but especially her rescue kitties.. who really act more like little puppies).
jesse hoang: physical therapist
Jesse Hoang is a staff Physical Therapist at Elite Performance Physical Therapy. He graduated from UC Irvine in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences, with Magna cum laude distinction. He furthered his education and skill set by graduating as a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, CA.
Jesse has had the privilege of receiving mentorship and guidance from Mark since 2015. Combining Mark's transformative "Ki Release" approach and other osteopathic principles, Jesse has been able to better optimize treatment sessions with his patients. He finds this methodology to be both a holistic, yet precise way to heal the body from the inside out.
As a southern California native, he enjoys spending time outdoors and seeking adventure with his beloved canine companion, Maya. Some of his most prized possessions include the tropical and rare houseplants that he cultivates in his Ikea greenhouse. He is also a dedicated enthusiast of Brazilian jiu-jitsu at the world famous 10th Planet Costa Mesa.
monique nece: physical therapy assistant
Monique Nece is a staff physical therapist assistant at Elite Performance. She earned her bachelor of science degree in kinesiology from Arizona State University and physical therapist assistant degree from Loma Linda University where she received a Clinical Excellence Award. Monique was a competitive figure skater for 10 years and played volleyball at ASU. Today she still plays volleyball but has replaced the court with the beach where she plays doubles with her twin sister.
